Public school started back up this week here in my hometown. My siblings go back to homeschool the week after Labor Day, I am heading back to my edits soon and our own blogger friend, Amber is hitting the books at the college campus, starting today I do believe.
There was something my dad told me, over and over and though I didn't often like to hear it, because it meant I would never reach the end, he told me, I would never stop learning.
To my finite brain, it sounded like I would be in a physical school for forever. But as I have gotten older (and hopefully smarter) I see the wisdom in that piece of advice.
Because we do, never stop learning.
The craft of fiction alone, never stops. Authors who have been writing for years and penned decades of books are still eager to learn. To know more about what the industry is requiring. And I must say I am ever eager to learn more about this craft.
Have you ever thought if we knew everything? How prideful we might become if we knew it all? Even Satan in the Garden of Eden, tempted Eve if she ate the forbidden fruit, she would become like God, she would know everything. If we ever reached a point where we have learned everything, what reverence would we hold for the soverenity of God? To turn to Him for the need for Him in our lives?
In no matter what aspect of our life, we should never yearn to cease learning. To continue to grow, continue to stretch our minds, continue to look to God as the fount of knowledge and understanding and wisdom.
Be ever eager to know more, to study and embrace the love and life God has given to us. Be ever eager to know more about Him, because only through studying Him, will we love Him more, worship Him with a great understanding and reverence.
Casey,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder that no matter how old we are, there is still room for learning. A reminder that we need as we sometimes forget that we can get stale if we let our brains, and souls, stop searching, learning, & seeking.
Blessings~

Yes, Beverly it was a good reminder for me too. Glad you liked it and thanks for visiting today. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, Casey! Quite humbling, and just what I need to hear. I did indeed start classes today, and I hope that I can have a positive attitude--to be grateful for the opportunity to learn more instead of becoming so frustrated with the work. God's omnipotence is truly amazing, and I'm so glad that He lets us grow and learn, as well as draw closer to Him.

Yes, isn't it amazing how He knows just what we need when we need it? To learn more about Him only explains how much we don't know, but how awesome He is for revealing just what we need at the right time. Have a great day in school today, hope it all goes smoothly for you!
