Revell Blog Tour and Book Review: Stars Collide by Janice Thompson

I am HUGE fan of Janice Thompson, and her “Stars Collide” is a great book to add to my collection.
While it doesn’t overflow with the humor of her “Weddings by Bella” series, I still found this book to be quite enjoyable. There is an ease of flow to the story- I even referred to it as “smooth”. Easy to slip into and comfortable to stay, with heartwarming characters and a plot that moves from A to B with the precision and grace of a seasoned storyteller.
Kat and Scott play out a touching romance, both on and off screen, and their interaction with Kat’s movie star grandmother is sweet and gentle. All the characters brought a depth to the plot and the faith element was well played out. It goes beyond mere superficial issues and delves into the heart of the issues Kat faces. I thought the progression through the book was well done.
The romance is sweet, characters endearing, circumstances witty, all set against the drama of Hollywood- a fun and colorful setting. It gives an inside peek into the world of glamour without the moral depravity or clichéd drama that often comes with that culture.
I wholeheartedly enjoyed this book and I definitely think fans (both old and new) of Janice will as well!
This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to the publishers for my copy to review.
Available February 2011 from Revell, a division of Baker Publishers.

  1. This sounds like a fun read.

OK, commenting on an older post, but I seem to catch up in "waves"...I didn't know you were PA Dutch. Chris' grandma's family left the Amish church.

  2. Thanks for the sweet review! I can't wait to see what you think about book two in this new series. It's Athena's story. Her whole family is Greek, and I had a blast writing their story!

  3. @Julia, yeah, it's not known for "sure" as our family doesn't have a lot of history written on us, ha! But my great-great-grandmother is thought to be PA dutch. Explains where I get my interest. :)

@Janice, oh YAY! I was hoping to get to read Athena's story. It's bound to be good. :) Thanks for swinging on by! :)
