The Best of 2009 Novels

What was the best book you read in 2009? Over on A

Sequence of Continous Delights, Carman is having a contest for the best cover of 2009 (be sure and vote! She has some great covers). And it got me thinking- why not have a contest for the best novel of 2009? So what was the best Christian fiction novel that you read that was published this year? Mine is just to the left. I loved Seaside Letters, what an amazing story and totally gripping and engaging. Leave a comment nominating your favorite 2009 Christian novel and once they are all in let the voting begin! Please be sure and tell me where I can find the book cover, though an exact URL won't be neccessary.

  1. Hi Casey, Oh, how can I choose just ONE novel? I just finished Christina Berry's "The Familiar Stranger" and thought that was terrific, so I'll vote for her.

  2. Wow. Just ONE book? Umm...I'd have to go with Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie Montana by Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss. Unique story about an orphan train and town in the middle of supposed nowhere, but the blessings for many that come out of it.

  4. JUNE BUG by Chris Fabry and NEVER THE BRIDE by Cheryl McKay and Rene Gutteridge are tie. Both for different reasons.

Both books touched me deeply. Both have a powerful message. Both were a delight to read and very memorable.

    Thanks for asking this question.

  5. Wow, it is difficult to choose just one book, but I would have to say 'How Sweet It Is' by Alice J. Wisler was my favorite for 2009. It was published by Bethany House. Thank you.

  6. Just one... really tough... there were so many, but I'm going with "Cry in the Night" by Colleen Coble.

  9. I'd have to say the best new book I read in 2009 was "By Darkness Hid" by Jill Williamson from Marcher Lord Press. I got to the end of the book and thought, Oh no, this is a series. How will I wait until the next book comes out?"

  10. Choosng one is very difficult. I think my personal favorite was Magic, Mensa and Mayhem by Karina Fabian. Very funny, unusual. Close to it for me were By Darkness Hid by Jill Williamson, North! Or Be Eaten by Andrew Peterson and The Blue Enchantress by MaryLu Tyndall.
