Giveaway! Masquerade Marriage and A Texas Christmas Mystery by Anne Greene!

Welcome to Writing for Christ, Anne Greene, it is great to have you here! Do you have an interesting fact about yourself the average reader probably doesn’t know?

I was raised as a neglected child, though my mother did love me, so my life truly began when I was born again and experienced the life-changing love of my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. All that I am or have, I owe to Him. He changes my writing from water into wine.

Do you have a favorite genre to read/write?

I write both historical romance MASQUERADE MARRIAGE, the first of the Scottish Historical Trilogy books and contemporary mystery/suspense like my book A TEXAS CHRISTMAS MYSTERY.

It’s not so strange to write both contemporary and historical because all my books contain suspense, mystery and romance. And these are the two genres I read the most.

Do you have a nugget of writing advice that has completely changed how you view writing?

I wish one nugget had changed me from unpublished to published, but that didn’t happen. There’s so much to the craft of writing that each facet developed little by little as I wrote. However, I’m a seat of the pants author. I was gratified to learn, after difficult forays into story-boarding, character sketches, and plotting that that type of writing didn’t work at all for me. I learned it’s okay not to know what’s going to happen. I love discovering where my characters will take me and how they will solve each dilemma. I love writing myself into a corner and receiving an epiphany to resolve the problem. I love to surprise myself with my endings. For me, that’s the excitement of writing. But I can’t say any one nugget changed how I view writing.

5 things you love?

I love my Lord Jesus who gave me a wonderful new life when I was twenty-one and has never let me down no matter how difficult the circumstances. I love my family, and family always comes first to me after my Lord. I love to write, and even more so since I’m published. I love to travel and have visited twenty-five foreign countries. I love being involved with people. I love to sing and participate in two choirs at my church. And I love art. You can see some of my work on my website, http://www.AnneGreeneAuthor.com.

What do you enjoy most about being a published author?

I love it when my readers tell me they loved my book, whichever one they were reading, and couldn’t put it down. They read until after two in the morning. I love to get feedback on my books.

Thank you so much for having me. And blessings to all my readers.

  1. Yay! Can I note, my family doesn't celebrate Christmas, so it might be a little awkward if I won that book. Could it be arranged, if I won, for me to get the Masquerade Marrige?

  9. Great interview! I was first introduced to Anne Greene when she was featured on the MBT Ponderers blog. Her books are in my TBR pile, but I haven't read one yet, so I'll for sure enter the contest. :) melissatagg[at]yahoo[dot]com

    1. Melissa, Scotland was one of the countries I visited. I fell in love with the country, the people and their history. I am also of Scottish descent as are many Americans. I'd never thought I'd get the opportunity to travel, but we have such a loving God, He gives us the desires of our heart.

  20. I really want to thank Anne for providing a link to her website. I want her to know that I'd like to thank her for her service as a military wife. I learned that she is one when searching her site. I also enjoyed her art, especially the pencil drawing of dried leaves. The details are lacy and realistic. :)
I would be happy to win her book. -Susan F.

    1. Thank you so much for liking my drawing. I haven't had much time to finish two other paintings I've been working on, but hope to add them to my website as soon as I can. And being a military wife is sometimes really difficult, so thank you for remembering.

    1. Pam, I'm a fan of print books too, although I take my kindle when I travel. I enjoy the texture and just the look of print books, but I purchase many ebooks because they're in my hand so fast. But for the tons of research I do, I still buy print.
