Welcome to Writing for Christ Tammy Barley, it is great to have you here! Do you have an interesting fact about yourself the average reader probably doesn’t know?
Readers, here is your chance to enter to win Tammy's latest novel!
You know when you get tired, and your body kind of wilts and your eyelids get heavy? Not me. I burst out laughing over some stray, nutty thought, and I can’t stop laughing.
Do you have a favorite genre to read/write?
Deeply romantic historical romance, and break-the-arm-of-your-chair suspense—which is why my novels include both. =)
Do you have a nugget of writing advice that has completely changed how you view writing?
Absolutely: The reader is the star. Every book, whether fiction or nonfiction, should place the reader front and center. In fiction, if the reader doesn’t feel the cold water of the mountain stream on her feet and ankles, if she doesn’t feel the heat and intensity of the hero’s embrace, if she doesn’t feel herself dangling over the black, bottomless pit of the mineshaft, then it’s not great fiction.
What do you enjoy most about being a published author?
I most love connecting with people who have the same faith beliefs and interests. Being an author is a fantastic way to meet these people.
Places for readers to learn more about you?
I’m also at Facebook, Twitter, ShoutLife, Goodreads, and YouTube! =)
Thank you for being with us today!
Thank you so much for inviting me!

Tammy, I know - it's funny sometimes when you get so tired that you get the silly giggles. I've done that many a time!

I will never forget the time that the men from church went on their first retreat and one of the ladies decided to have a sleepover at her apartment. At 2 AM someone held up a Yellow Tupperware bowl and I got hysterical laughing. Couldn't stop and of course had everyone else laughing and none of us had a clue what was so funny. I finally had to go outside to stop laughing.

Howdy, Patsy! The worst case of giggles struck during a recent Bible class (from being overtired). Thankfully my study buddies simply laughed along with me.
ReplyDeleteHi, Tori! Totally sweet baby photo! Yesterday I chuckled over a baby outfit I saw while shopping. It's the one that says "I'm new here." My first "baby" is currently approaching six feet in height. Wish the "little" years had lasted longer. =)
Greetings, Jo! Thank God (literally) for those wonderful friends who "get" us. AND for laughter.
Lisa, I'm with you--I thing the cover artists did amazing work. (So does my unmarried guy cousin--he asked if I knew the model's phone number). LOL!
Rebecca, do people call you Beckster? Lucky you. A few of my friends call me Tamster, which makes me think of a pet rodent. =) (Thank you for visiting!)
How do, Leah, from a fellow brown-eyes gal. I figured eating chocolate would have an affect sooner or later and, sure enough, if my eyes are my chocolate meter, I've pegged the needle!
Seriously, Doreen, (but I can only be serious for moments at a time), I LOVE making the reader the star. I love delivering an armchair adventure, a vacation of the imagination. It's the next-best thing to the real thing. =)
I'm with you, wfnren--Many thanks to Casey for her kind invite and for the blessing of meeting you wonderful ladies!
Kandra, I'm envious that you get to wake up each day in Tennessee! Kentucky and the South are the geographical loves of my life. I can't wait to take my kiddos to Tennessee so they can absorb the beauty of it. =)
Waving to you, Judy! I'm a fellow magnolia fan. While I visited Kentucky to research Love's Rescue and the trilogy, I saw the biggest magnolia trees ever at the Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill (and of course had to snap several photos). My dog is a solid white American Eskimo dog that we rescued, named Maggie. When she's affectionate, I call her my little Magnolia. Thank you for the sunshine, in the form of a magnolia blossom. :)
Fabulous name, Gwendolyn! Your parents certainly blessed you with a good one. I was named after--yep, you guessed it--Princess Leah's mom, Debbie Reynolds, and the "Tammy" movies.
It's wonderful to e-meet you, ladies! Thank you so much for taking a few moments to say Hi.
Laughter is such miraculous medicine...even if "nothing ails you"!
