Because I've got a STORY to share with you! :-))
When I attended the ACFW conference, I met a sweet lady...turns out this lady has written a book, due out in April, 2012 from Love Inspired Historical.
This lady is from Florida and has written (are you ready for this??)
A BOOK set in my hometown!
Imagine the odds of meeting this lady, Jessica Nelson at the conference. What are the chances?!?!?
Since then, Jessica and I have chatted here and there and she has agreed to join in my blog party!
Soooo....you can imagine the prize must be. ;-) Jessica's book won't release until April, so if you are the winner, please be aware your prize will be delayed. And I don't have a cover to share today.
BUT this was just too fun of an experience to pass up. :D
Here is....Jessica Nelson!!
What’s your favorite color M&M? Why?
This is probably bad but I don't have a favorite color. My favorite thing is to suck the color off and enjoy the chocolate underneath. :-)
Stay out late or early afternoon party?
Stay out late! Unless the kiddos are with me. Then early afternoon.
When your novel releases what will you do to celebrate?
I might cry. Or faint. Not sure yet. LOL Just kidding. I don't know what I'll do but I'm positive there will be some jumping and squealing.
Complete this thought:

The perfect party isn’t perfect without: Chocolate!!!
And we certainly have lots of chocolate today!!
Today's giveaway will be a copy of Jessica's forthcoming book, Love on the Range, AND don't forget to answer the trivia question for two extra chances to win and another chance to win a special prize package. :-))
AND I've got ANOTHER pary post scheduled for 12 noon (pacific time) so don't miss it!! :-))
Trivia question:
What was the date I started my party last year?
Oh, that's so awesome! Love the title of your book, Jessica, and I'd love a chance to win it! (How fun that it's set in your hometown, Casey!!) :D
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for chocolate!!!
Since I'm the first person (Woot!!) I'll give a shot at the trivia question... (I sometimes don't like to try because I usually see other people's responses...) Anyway, I looked in the archives and I think the date you started your party last year was Sunday, November 14th. :) Looking at those posts, I can't believe it's been a whole YEAR since then!! How time does fly...

P.S. Yes, Casey, I do have classes tomorrow... ;) My first one is at 8 AM! But I'm finishing up some reading for my Personality Theory class - plus I'm completely into The Doctor's Lady by Jody Hedlund tonight. It's awesome!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day Casey! Thank you for the fun party! Welcome Jessica and congratulations on your new book coming out!
ReplyDeleteCasey, your party last year kicked off on November 14th and a FUN party it was!
Have a blessed day!
Smiles & Blessings,

Good Morning Casey!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a copy of your book Jessica. We have something in common. The love of Chocolate! My husband just doesn't understand my need for it!
Casey, as for your part date, it was on November 14th last year. Time flies doesn't it??
Can you all believe that Thanksgiving is only a week away?
Blessings!

this has been a fun party. Nov. 14th 2010 was your first party day last year.
ReplyDeleteABreading4fun [at] gmail [dot] com
JESSICA!!! You sweet, naive, little thing -- EVERYONE knows the blue M&Ms taste best!!! Of course, YOU wouldn't know this as you're a young chickadee, and this is wisdom that only come with the ages ... as in Yoda ages!!
ReplyDeleteSOOOOOOOO excited for you, my friend -- couldn't happen to a nicer gal. Okay, it could happen to Casey, too, but it will soon enough down the road, so we'll just focus on you right now, okay?
GREAT par-teee, Case!!
Hugs,Julie
Jessica, I'm so excited about your book! And how fun that you wrote about Casey's home town! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat party, Casey!
Please enter me...this looks like a great book and interesting new author!
ReplyDeletekandrajane@bellsouth.net
YAY! Congrats, Jessica. It's been so cool to watch your career move forward!
ReplyDeleteHow's your family handling the new excitement? :-)
Casey, I went to look for the date of last year's party kick-off and got sidetracked! I ran across a review of a book I hadn't heard of before, read your review, went to Amazon, checked our library web-site (they didn't have it), back to Amazon, chucked a copy into my cart...and, oh yeah, I was looking for last year's blogaversary kick-off date!
ReplyDeleteYou're pretty tricky ;). And the date was Nov. 14.
I'm so excited about Jessica's book and can't wait to read it! Please put me in the drawing!
And what neat "coincidence" that Jessica used your town for the setting! I would have loved to listen to the conversation when the two of you met!
See you in a few hours - I can't miss Audra!
Jessica - See what happens when I get side-tracked? I guess you were over at the MnM bowl...
ReplyDeleteAnd Julie's right, the blue ones are the best. Or red. Or white. Or brown. Or orange.
Forget it. You're right - just go for the chocolate!
I've loved watching your career take off over on Seekerville - and like I told Casey, I can't WAIT to read your book!
Last year's party started on November 14th. Doing the research for these answers, I am seeing lots of books I "need" to read, lol.

Isn't it exciting to see new up and coming authors?? And tomorrow I have a post full of them! But we're on today. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL JAN! Yes...I *am* tricky. Which book grabbed your interest?? :)
JESSICA, so glad you can be here for my pary post today--I for one am VERY excited for this book. I'm so glad we "ran" into each other at the conference!! I wouldn't have known otherwise. :)
Grabbing a handful of M'nM's and heading off to work! See you tonight!!
mmmmm chocolate, the perfect party food!
ReplyDeleteGreat interview!
I'm so excited to read this book!! I've known Jessica for a few years, and I'm eagerly awaiting her debut novel. I love her blog.
ReplyDeleteJessica, SO excited for your upcoming release--now that's a MORE than worthy chocolate moment. Congratulations! I'm so glad you're here to help Casey party on her special week. And I hope Ronie and I didn't leave too much of a mess yestereday . . . Texas sheet cake and shortbread crumbs can really stick to your party shoes.
ReplyDeleteJULIE--Yoda, really?? I'm with you on the wisdom, but that guy needs a beauty spa consult. ;-)
Let's party, friends!!
Casey, the book that grabbed me was "The Silent Order" by Melanie Dobson! My first book has a similar starting point - Amish and gangsters - so I've got to see how she handled it. Now that my book is finished, of course :)
ReplyDeleteHey Casey! Love the M&M's and the excitement you're spreading with this contest, so much fun and joy to be shared :) I was a little confused by this question because Oct. 29, 2010 you announced "party news", but the answer is Nov.14, 2010 because that was the official blog party.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chances to win and loving the posts!

How awesome is that, a book set in your very own hometown? My mother exerienced that earlier this year when she read Lacy Williams' book set in Glenrock, WY. So awesome :)
ReplyDeleteChocolate is so a must at a party. LOL :)
I believe you started it on November 14th, 2010.
Happy Blogaversary (Not quite sure how to spell that ;)
crazi.swans at gmail dot com
Joining the party a bit late ... but, hey, I'm usually the gal who arrives early, so I'm mixing it up a bit!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the debut novel, Jessica! I understand the whole "possibly cry or faint" reaction ... I did the jumping up and down when I found out I'd landed a contract!
M&Ms? Just eat a handful like a chocolate rainbow!
November 14, 2010!

I thought so.
Don't delay! :D
You started your blog party last year on Sunday, Nov. 14.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have such a good archive so we can find these answers! I never get time till late in the day to read your blog so have to quickly scroll through all the other comments (without looking) to get to the comment form.
Thanks for introducing us to Jessica. I can imagine your delight to discover a book (and the author)that is set in your hometown. I enjoy reading books that are set in my state (Kansas).
Thanks for having the party.
Blessings to you,

Hello Jessica! It's always exciting meeting new authors. And how exciting, I bet, to be a new author! :-) Fun interview, Casey!
ReplyDeleteAnd the answer to your trivia question - November 14th
agirlslegacy(at)yahoo(dot)com
Wow, Casey! How cool that Jessie's book is set in your hometown. No wonder you had to have her as a guest. I don't eat chocolate in real life anymore, but I'm grabbing a big handful of the virtual variety in honor of your blogaversary and Jessie's post. Yum!

Great, fun interview Casey. Please enter me in the giveaway to win this book- maybe I'll learn a little about your hometown:-) Last year you started your party on Sunday November 14, 2010. God bless!
ReplyDeleteHow neat! I think the closest someone got to writing about my hometown was in the "Love Finds You" series ... they got the state right. =)
ReplyDeleteYour blogaversary party began on el domingo, 14 de noviembre, 2011. (Sorry, I have a Spanish class tomorrow). =)

Oh my!! What an awesome party! Casey, I'm still floored that we met. Seriously. Your hometown is just...well, it wasn't big at first. I don't know if it's big now, but it does have a cool history and you live in a gorgeous area. LOL I just can't believe it.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH for hosting me. I really appreciate it and am sorry I missed "talking" with you all on Thursday.
Judy, well said. Chocolate is truly a need. *grin*
ReplyDeleteHey Miss Julie!! How fun to see you here. Next time I eat M&Ms I will test your assertion with an experiment of my own. (tasting the blue ones, of course) Heeheee!
Thank you Missy!
Pepper, my hubs thinks it's pretty cool. I think things will hit them in April cuz I plan to be busy. :-)

Hi Jessica & Casey,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your upcoming debut, Jessica! I'll be sure to look for it.
We met for a brief second at the ACFW conference and I remember being amazed at how tall and graceful you were! Funny how our little blog pics don't give the full picture. LOL.
Great party, Casey. I haven't dropped by much, cause I'm consumed with NaNo, but all this talk of chocolate lured me in!
Cheers & Happy partying!
Sue
That is a pretty cool coincidence.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great party you are having. I'm having a blast visiting and learning so much about everyone.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jo
